In one of the most beautiful parts of Germany, right around the Starnberger Lake, the Ammersee, Wörthsee, Pilsensee and Weßlinger See, roughly 30 kilometers south-west of Munich, lie the venues of the Five Lakes Film Festival.

Kino Breitwand Gauting

The Breitwand Kino in Gauting is one of the festival's main venues and, with five barrier-free halls, offers space for a total of 388 people. The arthouse cinema impresses with its modernity and is located just outside Munich. In 2019, the cinema was awarded the top prize as Best Cinema in Bavaria.

Kino Breitwand Starnberg

In the heart of Starnberg are the festival office as well as the Breitwand Starnberg cinema, which is one of the main venues of the festival with two cinema halls and a total of 285 seats. The open air cinema in the lakeside resort of Starnberg is within a 10-minute walk, Lake Starnberg as well as the S-Bahn station within a 5-minute walk.

Open Air Seebad Starnberg

Schlossberghalle Starnberg

The Schlossberghalle Starnberg is especially the venue for the special events of the Five Lakes Film Festival, including the Hannelore Elsner Award Ceremony, event with the Guest of Honor, various film screenings, lectures and panel discussions as well as the festive opening ceremony (in case of bad weather). The hall is barrier-free, easy to reach and seats for wheelchair users are available. Parking is available in the underground garage in the center and an elevator leads directly up to the Schlossberghalle. Another elevator in the center, entrance Hauptstraße, is accessible on foot and leads directly to the forecourt of the Schlossberghalle.

Kino Breitwand Seefeld

The Breitwand cinema, idyllically located in the castle courtyard of Seefeld, invites a total of 117 moviegoers with two cinema halls (including a cozy cinema lounge). The cinema lounge is barrier-free. Parking is available, the walk from the S-Bahn station Seefeld-Hechendorf takes about 20 minutes. The cinema was awarded as best cinema in Germany by the federal government in 1997 and 2013.

DAMPFER MS STARNBERG

Described by DIE ZEIT as "one of the most beautiful film parties in the world" and one of the highlights of the Five Lakes Film Festival. In the early evening, the MS Starnberg steamer departs from the pier (right by the S-Bahn station) into the night with spectators, many guests from the film industry and the filmmakers, while the winning films of the festival are selected. The film experience in the darkness on two screens on deck is unforgettable!

Open Air at Augustiner am See Wörthsee

Directly on the shore of Lake Wörthsee, the open-air screenings begin at sunset in a wonderful ambience. Reservations are possible by phone at Breitwand Kino and at fsff.de.
